I was born on Valentine's Day, 1976, which I suppose makes me 36 years old. I live in the wonderful state of Michigan (wonderful except for the taxes, yeesh), and I've lived here my whole life.
I went to grade school at Zion Lutheran School in Hemlock, MI, and I attended high school at Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, MI. I have a degree in Computer Science which I received from Central Michigan University (CMU).
While in high school, I worked at Meijer for about two-and-a-half years as a bagger and cart-pusher (read: packaging specialist and cart-retrieval technician). For those of you who don't know, Meijer is a "one-stop shopping" store in the midwest. they sell everything from chainsaws to hot dogs.
In 1996 I worked at Cedar Point, the world's biggest amusement park, as a Ride Attendant on White Water Landing – the log ride in the back of the park. My job at Cedar Point was quite possibly the best summer of my life. Although we worked no less than 60 hours a week (80 was about average), everybody would go to the bar and party after work every night. If you were on WWL that summer, there's a good chance I told you to "sit down," and "stop splashing!" If you're in college and have the opportunity, I highly recommend working there. You will come home with enough stories to last you the rest of your life.
Just before graduating from CMU in 1999 (super senior, yeah!), I got a job working as the Web Administrator for a major employer in the Lansing area. Not Michigan State University or the state government.
I've been married since May 18, 2002, to my wife Kathy. We met at college and dated for 6 years before getting married. Kathy was a Zookeeper at the Detroit Zoo for 5 years, but not too long ago she quit and we relocated from metro Detroit to Lansing where we live in our 1938 cape cod house which we bought in 2005.
